We greatly appreciate your participation with us and look forward to partnering with you to serve our community. In order to maintain this environment, we have some guidelines for those serving in any capacity at Carolina Creek.
Timeliness
If you sign up for or are assigned a time to work, please know that we are depending on you! Please arrive at the specified time and location communicated to you so we can provide you with information and instructions before guests arrive. If an unforeseen circumstance happens which will prevent you from fulfilling your assigned post, please communicate with us as soon as possible. You may call the office at 936.594.4446 or refer to the contact person in your informational email.
Speech and Behavior
Please keep your speech free from all profanity or coarse language and be mindful of your tone when addressing a situation. Carolina Creek is a harassment-free environment and anyone serving, even if an employee of a contractor or a volunteer, is expected to treat all individuals with respect and courtesy. Should any conflict arise, it should be resolved in a civil and peaceful manner, without raised voices and, when possible, not in public areas. Please contact your supervisor before the situation escalates.
Clothing/Appearance
Please dress modestly and appropriately for the position you are assigned. This includes but is not limited to:
• Loose-fitting t-shirts that cover midriff for both men and women. No shirts or tanks with open sides.
• Jeans, khakis, utility pants and cargo pants are appropriate. Modest leggings, yoga pants, etc may be worn only with a long shirt covering the torso.
• Inappropriate graphics or slogans, including but not limited to those that promote alcohol, tobacco, drug use or violence, use profanity, or include sexual innuendo, are prohibited. Words or graphics printed across the back of pants are prohibited.
• Shoes should have a secure heel strap and be appropriate for the activity area you are assigned.
• Long hair should be pulled back and secured and dangling jewelry should be removed when assisting in adventure activity areas such as zip line, adventure park, quick flight, and sporting activities.
Alcohol and Tobacco
Using, selling, dispensing, distributing, possessing or manufacturing illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia is not in line with the values of Carolina Creek, and therefore not allowed. Use and possession of alcohol is prohibited for all serving while on shift, and on premises at any time. Use of tobacco or vaping products is only permitted in designated areas, only on your break or before/after your shift, must not be in uniform, and must adhere to local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Right to Search
All staff, vendor, contractor and volunteer possessions, vehicles, and Carolina Creek-issued equipment and containers under the control of the person serving are subject, in compliance with all applicable laws, to search and surveillance at all times while on Company premises or other work sites, or while otherwise conducting Company business.
Reasonable Suspicion of Violations
Supervisors are to report immediately to the Human Resources Department any action or observations that suggest a person serving may be impaired by drugs or alcohol. Anyone who is serving in any capacity who is believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be required to leave the premises. Arrangements will be made to transport him or her home or to an alternate safe location; the person serving will not be allowed to drive himself or herself if he or she is suspected of being impaired.
Child Protection Policy
Every employee, intern, volunteer, and independent contractor of Carolina Creek is a legally mandated reporter and has the responsibility and moral obligation to keep kids as safe as possible. If any person serving witnesses or suspects child abuse, or notices suspicious activity it MUST be reported immediately to your Supervisor.
The supervisor will involve on-site law enforcement if appropriate. The supervisor will also assist in filing a report with Texas Family & Protective Services if appropriate.
Under no circumstances should any volunteer, vendor, contractor, staff member or other adult be alone in a room or building with a minor. Furthermore, when outdoors, it is our policy to always be within easy eye-shot and ear-shot, (close range to be seen and heard), of other adults when interacting with a minor. If the volunteer or other person serving is a minor, they should follow the same guidelines, i.e. always have a third person involved in any interactions with guests or staff.
Carolina Creek firmly follows this “Rule of Threes.” Any volunteer, employee, contractor or vendor or agent of those who separated from the group with one guest or other volunteer where one party is a minor is in violation of this policy.
Any physical touch of a guest for purposes of facilitating an event should be done only with the guests permission, e.g. “May I tighten your harness?”, “May I pick you up to put you on the horse?”, “Would you like assistance getting into your wheelchair/the golf cart?”, etc. Please refrain from any physical contact without clear consent.
I have read and agree to abide by the Carolina Creek Code of Conduct.
